e) Restriction on use of chemical substances
Parts and raw materials delivered to Daikin Europe NV must be free from substances that are listed as prohibited on “the Specified Chemical Substance List” of Daikin. Prohibited substances on “the Specified Chemical Substance List” of Daikin Europe N.V. must not be used in the manufacturing process.
f) Cooperation with investigation of chemical substances
When required by regulations, such as REACH (The Regulation, Evaluation & Authorization of Chemicals), Daikin Europe N.V. will ask suppliers to submit information on their products regarding chemical substances, the amount contained in parts and materials, the purpose of their inclusion and any potentially harmful effects.
g) Packaging materials
Suppliers are expected to optimise and reduce packaging materials for items supplied to Daikin Europe N.V., via the re-use of boxes, substitution of one-way wooden pallets, etc.
h) Eco-consideration design
When design work is involved, eco-consideration design principles must be employed. The Procurement department of Daikin Europe NV requests suppliers to implement self-evaluation by using an inspection sheet supplied by Daikin Europe N.V. Daikin annually collects and evaluates these sheets. Based upon the evaluation results, Daikin Europe N.V. may ask the suppliers to make certain improvements to their environmental protection activities.
Daikin Europe NV may visit suppliers and conduct on-site inspections and hearings with regards to the current status of their environmental preservation activities.
